Release Date

26 October 2012

On the 11th October 2012 the state’s best of the best exporters were rewarded for excellence at the NSW Premiers NSW Export Awards.

The Premier’s NSW Export Awards showcased the state’s best of the best exporters, in front of an audience of over seven hundred guests and Guest of Honour the Hon Barry O’ Farrell, Premier of NSW.  This year’s awards showcased some truly innovative companies, particularly from the manufacturing sector.  Taking out the highly prestigious overall award, the 2012 Premier’s NSW Exporter of the Year was Western Sydney based manufacturer of recording equipment Rode Microphones.

Senior Manager for International Trade at the NSW Business Chamber, Mr Ian Bennett, judged the Small to Medium Manufacturer category, eventually won by Hedweld Group of Companies. This award category highlighted outstanding export achievement by a manufacturer with total annual sales of less than $30 million.

Many NSW Business Chamber members were finalists in the Export Awards and special mention goes to winners in from our Chamber in their various categories. These companies include Servcorp, X Strata Coal, Ensitech, Stratatel and OEM Technology.

This year was the 50th Anniversary of the NSW Export Awards program; making the NSW Export Awards Australia’s longest running business awards program. Over the last 50 years over 324 NSW companies have been recognised for their exporting achievements, many of whom started off in Emerging Exporter and Small Business award categories and are now major international brands and many are proud members of the NSW Business Chamber.

Congratulations to all the award winners and we look forward to helping NSW Businesses achieve their export goals and continue to be a voice in the community and indeed on a global scale. Congratulations and well done.
