The total exhibition area reaches 1.18 million m2 each session, attracting around 25,000 companies of 16 industries from home and abroad including electronics and electrical household appliances, Hardware and Chemicals, Customer goods, household items, Fabrics and Garment, Food and Medicine and etc. Canton Fair also attracts around 200,000 professional buyers from 200 countries and regions every session, the American, European and Oceania buyers of which account for nearly 40%. More than 150 out of 250 top world’s retailers have purchased in Canton Fair on a regular basis, including Wal-Mart, Tesco, IKEA, Best Buy and Lock& Lock.

As the International economy changes and Chines economy grows, Chinese government has attached more and more importance to the enhancement of import trade to economy development and adopted a series of measures to balance the import and export. Since the year of 2007, Canton Fair has set up International Pavilion, which transformed from an exporting platform to an import & export one. In 2016, the total volume of import reached 10.5 trillion RMB, Chinese consumers’ demand for the imported goods has been kept rising. After deeply analysis on the market, International Pavilion selects 6 product categories with huge import potentials to display. Electronics and Electrical household appliance, Building material and hardware, Machinery equipment are in phase 1 of Canton Fair, while Food and Drink, Household items, Fabrics and Home Textile are in Phase 3 of Canton Fair. It is worth mentioning that Canton Fair ranks the top with regard to the size, internationalization and specialization of the 6 product categories above, even compared with corresponding specialized exhibitions around the world.
