Terry O’Riordan, GAICD has held senior positions in both SME and corporate organisations in Australia and overseas. Prior to moving into his current business advisory role, he enjoyed multi-functional positions with over 16 years in information management, logistics and digital document management.

These roles have included General Management, Operations Management, Business Process Improvement (QA and HR management) and Technology Project Management.  Included amongst these positions were the role of NSW Operations Manager with data and fulfilment company Security Mailing (now SEMA), State Manager of Decipha – (Australia Post’s digital information logistics firm) and General Manager of an award winning commercial print company.  In the early 2000s, he managed customer projects in Canada with TELUS Enterprise Solutions, the digital solutions arm of a major telecommunications business (TELUS).   While in Canada, he was responsible for coordinating commercial customer web, print and distribution projects. At the same time, Terry oversaw the Telco’s print operations - formatting data to variable print by converting customer account information from AS400 mainframe systems.

He also attended and contributed to industry events as a company representative at Xplor conferences (the Electronic Digital document association) in Canada, the United States and Australia.

Terry has well-developed customer relationship and project management skills with business acumen acquired at medium to large enterprise level. His direct industry experience spans managing small to large teams in data programming, variable data printing, document scanning and digitization, logistics, fulfillment and direct mail campaign management. 

Key management responsibilities have included-
  • Business unit P & L accountability.
  • Management of programming and graphic design teams.
  • Strategic planning and project management of business mergers.
  • Management of field technicians.
  • Implementing major client projects, direct marketing campaigns and on line portal development.
  • Supplier management and negotiation – including capital expenditure approval.
  • Customer relationship management and SLA performance management.
  • Development of human capital including training, development, performance and negotiation of industrial agreements.
  • Implementation of business improvement programs (including ISO systems certification).
As a Business Adviser since 2007, Terry has engaged with numerous firms in developing action plans and connecting businesses with external expertise and support. He has facilitated positive outcomes with enabling technology firms and manufacturers across printing, packaging, textiles, furniture, composites, medical equipment, chemicals, marine, metal fabrication and food processing.
